Easy like Sunday Morning....

One of my newest discoveries that I'm really enjoying are the comfortable, stylish shoes from Easy Spirit! I know, I know, Easy Spirit is the simple little sneaker my Mom wears because she's older and has hip and back issues, but I found the cutest little patent-red, peep-toe wedges and much to my shock, learned they were Easy Spirits! They are comfortable, stylish, and all in all, a really delightful surprise! I'm glad to see so many comfortable shoe companies have decided to design shoes that cater to both fashionista's and comfort mavens, and they were under $100.

Mandarin

Here is the storyboard we used when creating the suite Mandarin for a Couple who wanted to celebrate the joining of their varied Asian-American heritage. Both loved deep, crimson reds traditionally used in Chinese Weddings, as well as bright, spring greens that felt both modern, and distinctly natural, themes they wanted conveyed throughout their wedding stationery.

Baby Gracie

It's been a busy new year here at Milkmaid Press, as our home and work family has expanded with the adoption of a rescue kitten that we've named Gracie. She's a very sweet little girl who loves playing with string, her very own anthropolgoie shopping bag turned cave, and giving us eskimo kisses while we work. It's been hard getting any work done, with Gracie serving as a very cute and cuddly distraction! Here are her first photos for you to enjoy!

A rusty little press

We started this week cleaning and prepping our recently acquired Golding Official #12! With help from hubby nic nichols and father-in-law lee, we started disassembling the bohemoth table top press to soak in the suggested vinegar and lemon juice cocktail that many posts assured would easily remove rust. We started with smaller bits, such as springs and screws and the concoction worked wonders! I would recommend to anyone trying to make an old press new again to try this easy and non-toxic method, rather than killing yourself scrubbing away. We're hoping it warms up a little bit so we can get back out to the studio to finish the press-we'd ideally like to have it up and running by mid-february...we shall see!
